HANGZHOU, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- An all-cargo air route linking Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, and Spain's Madrid was launched Thursday.
"We urge the U.S. side to abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of three China-U.S. joint communiques, stop official interactions and contact of all kinds as well as the upgrading of substantive relations with the island, and handle Taiwan-related issues in a prudent and proper manner, so as not to seriously damage China-U.S. cooperation in major areas as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," Zhao added. The remarks were made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin in response to U.S. executive orders issued Thursday, which ban transactions carried out by American companies or individuals with parent companies of WeChat and TikTok apps.
"Foreign companies, including European ones, were part of the story of China's development, and we believe they will continue to be part of the successful story of China's development and win-win cooperation," he added.
Besides building the lab, a group of Chinese experts brought technical training and testing protocols to the new facility.
"Very often we hear complaints here that we don't give a level playing field to American companies. But more and more, I believe we should complain Chinese companies are not having a level playing field here," he said.
He added that as the world's economic powerhouse, China has a number of advantages ranging from raw materials, productivity, labor, infrastructure, economic diversification to education, among others.
China will as always welcome European investors and companies from other countries, continue to firmly deepen reform and expand opening up, and provide more cooperation opportunities and development dividends for their operations in China, Wang said.
"Of course, greater clarity and greater rapprochement on the part of both countries are needed. Therefore, the role of diplomats from both parties will be essential to negotiate solutions to the problems, without ever needing the use of force," said Maggiorelli.
