BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson for the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of China's State Council said some U.S. politicians have fully exposed their hegemonic traits over the so-called sanctions against heads of Chinese central government agencies responsible for Hong Kong affairs and officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government.
BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to make cool-headed and sensible response to the impulsive moves and anxiety of the U.S. side, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
The sanctions against them show that China will never back down on major issues related to China's national sovereignty, security and development interests.
They have wantonly interfered in Hong Kong affairs, with some of them being responsible for the disturbances following the now-withdrawn ordinance amendments, or U.S. sanctions on China and the HKSAR, said the spokesperson.
"China's door to dialogue remains open. We are willing, in the spirit of equality and open-mindedness, to talk and interact with the United States, and resume dialogue mechanisms at all levels and in all fields," said Wang.
