"I fully agree and support Wang's opposition to (U.S. Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo's assertion that the policy of engagement with China pursued by successive U.S. administrations has failed, and his call for advancing the relationship through cooperation," Sylwester Szafarz, former consul general of Poland in the Chinese city of Shanghai, told Xinhua.
Over the past few decades, he said, Sino-U.S. exchanges have promoted global peace and stability and economic and social development. The cooperation between the two countries at bilateral and multilateral levels has helped solve many global problems. A "new cold war" is not a solution to differences and contradictions. There have always been forces in the United States attempting to rebut the leadership role of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China's path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Wang said during an exclusive interview with Xinhua.

"Business and the economy must recover and work such as those major government infrastructure developments, must continue," he said. Enditem
The Chinese side has proposed that the two countries draw up three lists respectively on cooperation, dialogue and issues that need proper management, and draw up a road-map for future interactions, he added.
Wang also noted that many international polls in recent years show that at least 90 percent of the Chinese people trust their government.

NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The spokesperson of China's Permanent Mission to the United Nations said Wednesday that the Chinese ambassador has called on parties concerned to exercise restraint in Kashmir.
He said the Chinese side rejects any attempt to create a so-called "new Cold War", because it contravenes the fundamental interests of the Chinese and American peoples and the global trend toward development and progress.
"Cooperation between China and the United States has always been conducted for mutual benefit," he said, adding the two countries have had productive cooperation in such areas as counter-terrorism, non-proliferation and narcotics control, among others.
