"Respect science" and "hard work" enable Chinese to control epidemic: The New Yorker

China wants U.S. bio-labs open to media scrutiny: FM spokesperson

At the height of COVID-19, the United States went so far as to groundlessly attack and withdraw from the World Health Organization. The current U.S. administration has pulled out of more international treaties than any one before it, making itself the most damaging force of the current international order, he added.

Wang stressed that Chinese journalists have followed journalism ethics and the principle of objectiveness, fairness, truthfulness and accurateness when conducting reporting activities across the world, including in the United States.

China is now working with the government and people of Fiji to build a comprehensive strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development, said Qian, adding the purpose of the visit is to explore the possibility for future cooperation.

"We said many times that the United States caused the current situation and is responsible for it. The United States should immediately correct its mistakes and stop its political oppression on the Chinese media and journalists," said Wang.

"I want to stress that many Chinese companies subject to U.S. unilateral sanctions are innocent, who just provide safe technologies and products," Wang said, adding that not a single cybersecurity incident like those revealed by Edward Snowden or WikiLeaks has ever occurred, and not a single tapping or surveillance operation like PRISM, Equation Group or Echelon has taken place.

Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, wrote in an opinion published by The Washington Post that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered a blistering speech about China.

"It has gone extreme to pursue unilateralism and bullying, even at the cost of international responsibilities and multilateral rules," Wang told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.

At a time when the future of the world is at stake, China will continue to champion and pursue multilateralism, safeguard the UN-centered international system, and promote multipolarity and greater democracy in international relations, Wang added. Enditem

"This is a new front of the battle," said Atli.
