China, U.S. should keep relations in right direction: senior Chinese diplomat

Interview: Cambodia-China FTA to boost bilateral trade, investment ties: Cambodian minister

"Of course, greater clarity and greater rapprochement on the part of both countries are needed. Therefore, the role of diplomats from both parties will be essential to negotiate solutions to the problems, without ever needing the use of force," said Maggiorelli.

Reportedly, citing an order by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Lorenzana said the Philippines would not join navies of other countries in maritime drills in the South China Sea for fear of raising tension in the area.

Wang noted that next year will mark the 100th anniversary of the CPC, stressing that the great endeavor of the Chinese people under the CPC leadership has been recorded in the history of modernization as an outstanding, epoch-making chapter.

"With all due respect, I very often hear people in this country say this is something universal. But when they say universal, it's mainly the United States and a couple of European countries," said the ambassador, responding to another question about "an almost universally held criticism of China (on Xinjiang)."

Everyone can see easily and clearly that the U.S. goal is to keep its monopoly in science and technology and deny other countries the legitimate right to development, Wang said.

BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's top securities regulator said Saturday that resolving issues of common concern through dialogue is the only way to achieve win-win results, when responding to a recent U.S. report released by the President's Working Group on Financial Markets.

Meanwhile, to contribute to the protection of fishery resources in the region, China's fishery authority has decided to ban fishing in the high seas west of the Galapagos Marine Reserve from September to November this year, which has been appreciated by Ecuador and other relevant countries, Wang said.

According to the South Korean health authorities, the Chinese government resumed the issuance of visas from Aug. 5 for South Korean students and workers and those with valid residence permits who tested negative for COVID-19.

"Resolving issues of common concern through dialogue is the only way to achieve win-win results," said the CSRC. "Only by doing so can a sound environment for the healthy and orderly operation of the global capital market be created."

Mahmoud Ashour, in charge of security and cleaning jobs at the TEDA cooperation zone, has been especially busy during the past few months. Every day, Ashour and his colleagues disinfect the public areas thoroughly and measure the body temperature of people entering and exiting the zone.
